HAPPY NEW YEAR, a day early

Hey Everyone!
I will be gone on vacation Jan. 1-8, Grand Cayman. Considering the 2 feet of snow otu my window, and the cold temperatures it is a fair statement that I excited for warmth. I got some pretty awsome books waiting to be read, got 3 more yesterday. Including Deadly little Games which I'm ubberly excited. I almost am in LOVE with the cover Nightshade!!! Absoutly love the cover, if you don't know why go stare at a copy in a book store!! You can follow or befriend me on Goodreads to my ratings!! I also believe today is the last day for the Indie Holiday Giveaway so if you have not done so already go check it out!! I'm also considering maybe looking into republishing End of the Line, re-editing it with another company, not really sure.

Oh the lovely Jessica posted the interview of me on her blog!! She is quite flattering!! You all should check it out! I wish everyone a Happy New Year! Talk to you in 2011 :)

Cabin fever, day 2

Hey Everyone!!
I don't know if everyone will understand this reference, but if anyone has seen The Muppet's Treasure Island, the song 'cabin fever' is beginning to take form. Those of us that are in Jersey, are still under state of emergency, and to further prove it. It stopped snowing this morning and it is 7pm and my street has yet to be plowed, just lovely. Just as a reference there is probably over 2 feet of snow. My poor car is gone, well was till my dad shoveled the driveway, but the street to free us all, nopes. The town's police called us to make sure that we would not leave our homes, however happily enough we did not lose power, I finished reading The Hourglass Door, and I have been working on the sequal to A Pirates' Life for Me, 'Heart Out at Sea'. After reading The Hourglass Door, just further proved, if I leave how I end A Pirates Life for Me how it is, I will have books thrown at my head.

Since a fair amount of people are getting a from of an e-reader, that will lead to more bruising which is not very nice! I'm figuring the characters out a little better, and I'm thinking there will be a form of romance that I have never really done before. It's all exciting! I can wait to explore this story a little more so that you all can also read it. I also have a few other tales being worked on as well. I guess I really needed this break from school!

BLIZZARD accomplishments!!

Hey Everyone!!!
So if I sound a little crazy, blame the Cabin Fever kicking in!! For those who are NOT living in Jersey might now this, there is a blizzard outside my window (i really wouldn't mind having a mint oreo blizzard from DQ right about now...)!!! My area is suppose to get around 18 or so inches of snow! It is seriously insane, I could barely see out my window today. That kicked my butt to get things done however. I got to finally take my new author picture, author bio finished, summery of Family Ties for the back cover done, interview for Jessica done, and lastely uploaded End of the Line up on Amazon for kindle format which will be able to be downloaded on Kindles this week!!

I hope the holidays were great to everyone and will keep doing so!!

Hey Everyone!!
Sorry that it has been a little bit, finals are finally done along with the semester!!! I'm going to highly enjoy this time off! I recieved The Hourglass Door and The Poison Study, with more to come and this just adds to my excitement! Sorry I'm highly easily amused! Plus a dork so it's all good. So yesterday was my 21st birthday!! I'm not really a drinker so it wasn't overally a big deal, but I had some fun with my one housemate last night at school since it was her last night!! Going to miss her in the house! My friend Melissa will be kidnapping me tomorrow night, which shall be interesting none the less...

Okay so in other news TOMORROW I'm finally going to summit author bio and the description of Family Ties to BC Publishing finally!! I feel bad I keep putting it off!! I will probably will have a friend read the decription to see if it makes people want to read the book. I will also try to take an author picture tomorrow after I get my new license (those who are from NJ will understand when you turn 21 your license change directions). I'll try not to be too picky with the picture...no promises.

Finals are almost DEAD!

Hey everyone!!
I'm tired and drained, so it must be the end of the semester! I have a World Religions debate tomorrow, a Policies and Society of Developing Countries final Friday, and an Education test 8am Monday. It is almost time for break and I can almost taste it! I very much need this break and I can not wait to enjoy every second of peace!

On top of studying for my last final this weekend, my goals are, to finish my author bio and Family Ties for BCP! I've been working on that in pieces after restarting since computer felt the need to delete what I had done! Jeremy (my computer, yes I named my laptop!) decided to be mean to me! I will also be working on my Interview for the lovely blog
The Simple Pleasure of Reading I truly enjoy talking to the owner of that site! I'm sure I will be helping the Weber household get even MORE into the festive mood of the holidays, but the house has been done for awhile...

I'll try not to keep the duration of time to be too long again with posts! I will also hopefully be working on the Book Trailier for End of the Line during break!

little updates!

Hey Everyone!
I hope December is going well for everyone despite the chaos that might be happening! So I decided to do little updates! If you use Goodreads, there is now a description of End of the Line on there and on Amazon! I also set up an author page on Amazon, so far I think I like the idea, I found something else to figure out! Also a very high energy blogger I follow, made me excited! MORE NEWS! I love her energy and her language so when I saw that she was looking for authors to interview I volunteered. She accepted my offer and I will be interviewed on her blog, (link below). I highly suggest you all take a look at her blog, it is simply beautiful and I'm sure you all will enjoy it! I will be interviewed on December 31!

suggestions

Hey!
So whether it's a good idea or I'm trying to find a new way to procastenate, we'll never know...However, tell me what you think of the new 'page' for my books. I'm going to put the summeries of each story on there. I might add like fun facts for each story under the summery, though I'm not sure, tell me what you think!

end of the semester...

Hey!
I really hope everyone's schedule isn't as bad as mine. I might not really be updating this week sadly...unless I have uber good news which I want to share. I have finals starting not this upcoming week, but the next so all the last bit of assignments are this week and a test I SERIOUSLY need to do well on! So I will be going frantic with schoolwork. I will not have much time, which really is not okay in my book. I will be writing 'Project US 3: Project Not Again' and might try playing around with 'A Pirate's Life for Me 2 (Heart Out at Sea)', no promises on the second one however. I'm sorry for how long I might be absent...

AWARD!!!

Hey! The good news seems to be in the air! My blog was nominated for an award! I really was not expecting this and I seriously want to thank Sue again for this! I seriously appericate it! It really made my day!

There are a few things that the new recipients must do should they decide to accept this award. They are:

1. Thank and link back to the person that gave this award.
2. Answer the 10 survey questions.
3. Pass the award along to other bloggers who you think are fantastic.
4. Contact the bloggers you’ve picked to let them know about the award.

Now for the questions:

1. If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing this; if you are not anonymous, do you wish that you had started out anonymously so that you could be anonymous now?
I'm not annoymous and it really does not bother me. If people feel more comfortable like this then that is good that is good that we have that option.

2. Describe on incident that shows your inner stubborn side.
Hahaha I really do not know where to begin with this...I'm probably more stubborn then I should be at times. It interwines with my determination though so for school it works out. With people it shows that I have fire and willing to fight for what I believe in and care about.

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
I see a person trying to still figure themselves out, and I'm not ashamed to say that. I've done a lot of soul searching the past year and trying to work on my confidence because of that. I will not say I am fully satifisted, but I'm more comfortable with who I am and willing to keep working on it.

4. What is your favorite summer cold drink?
Um maybe water? I like hydration? When I was younger it was a treat to have pink leomande though, we did not always have it in the house.

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
I'm trying to remember. I love hanging out with my friends, I do not get to see them much so I love seeing and just doing whatever with them. I also enjoy reading and writing. On occation doing my nails and watching a movie or going to the beach. I also enjoy a hot bubble bath with a book and music to relax.

6. Is there something that you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?
I'm only 20 so I think I have a lot of time to work on it. I would love to finish school, might get my masters in Special Education. I want to keep publishing stories, I love it! I want to also backpack through Europe, get married and have a family of my own one day.

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the shy person, or always ditching?
I wasn't the bottom of the pond, and I was not one of the 'popular' group. I was in band, concert, marching, and jazz band. I talked to the people I felt like talking to, got picked on a little, nothing really major. My graduating class was around 400 people, pretty bubble town, and I was able to ingore a lot of it if I did not want to deal. I had my small group of friends and some friends outside of that group and I was good.

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what would you see?
Haha um I have a few moments I guess. I picture moments with my friends to make me smile. I printed out the letter for the accpetance letter from BCP company for my next book to hang on my wall. Like Sue, I wish I could say my spouse, but atlas I'm single, but I will admitt I think about moments with my ex-boyfriend, conversations with other people. I really don't think I am answering this question right.

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?
It is easier for me to present the true verison of me in writing then when I actually meet someone. My ex will even agree to that. I really try to be honest on my blog because I do value honesty very much. I want my readers to really know who I am and to do that I have to show that I'm honest. To show this true self is something that I hope I'm really showing.

10. If you had the choice to sit down and read a book or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
Depending on who is on the phone. A couple fo my friends I can talk for hours with, and otherwise probably reading. However as a future teacher I do have the ablitiy of not knowing when to stop talking. My friend Alex and I talked for like 16 hours straight.

Now go and visit the bloggers I nominate for this award. Off you go...

update news

Hey!
I hope everyone had a happy and fun Thanksgiving yesterday!! I know I did, had a few of my relatives over my parent's house. I got to see three of my little cousins, they really are growing up so fast! The 3 year old decided the napkin was meant to be a hat instead of being worn on his lap. Going to NYC tomorrow to see his older sister who is 10 preform in the Liberity Center The Nutcracker tomorrow!! I'm truley thankful for my family! They were so excited to hear about my news about Family Ties. I'm also thankful for my friends, the giggles of the conversations that night!!

I just finished editing A Pirate's Life for Me tonight!! It took longer then I wanted it to, but I'm so happy that I got to relive that story! I am sending it to the friend I'm decating it to if it gets published. I'm curious on her opinion and if she agrees with me if it needs a sequal. My worry is if it does get published, that the people reading it will chuck the book at my head for how I ended it. Plus it isn't like people would have to twist my arm much to revisit the characters Sly and Jacqueline. I love my characters, I enjoy the characters more then my plots.

Have fun and stay safe with the upcoming holiday season!

in the mail

Hey!
After seeing the people I follow have their own 'in the mail' posts, I have one! However this one isn't a book in the mail, however I did recieve two books, waiting for me for when I came home from school. This 'in the mail' is that I have signed the BCP company's contract and it will be in the mail tomorrow. It is a step closer to getting Family Ties published. The estamated date is May 1, 2011, but that day is not set in stone. I'll keep everyone in the loop though!

Looking at my bookselves for my 2 new books I try to figure out where to put them. I really will need a room just for my books when I get my own place! I really have an obession it feels like.

BCP Excitment!!!

Hey!!!!
So I got the email of good news today after a long week of school!! Bucks County Publishing is accepting Family Ties as their next book!!!! This good news was exactly something I needed! I read through their contract, but my dad wanted to read the contract before I signed. Do not care if that sounds childish, but my parents just want to make sure everything is in order. I still have so much school work to be focusing on, but what a way to start the season on a good note!! This book I have been trying to prevent hurting anyone's eardrums, my poor ex with my first book! I'll keep explaining what's going on! I'm so excited!! I'm hoping this good news helps perk up my motivation! Look for Family ties late spring/ early summer!!

sorry!

Hey!
Sorry everyone that it has been like a week! I really was trying to keep on this more often...sorry it has been really crazy with school lately! The next month will continue to be a trial on my poor last bit of sanity. Thanksgiving I'm hoping will help a little bit of help, however I have a couple major things due not long after that. My goal however is to finally finish editing A Pirate's Life for Me. I know it takes me FOREVER to edit. I do not have much more chapters left in it and its fun reseeing how the story unfolds. I wrote this when I was 16, almost 5 years ago. The more I edit it the most I play around with the idea of writing a sequal for this, no promises, but I'm going to try to write one for these characters.

Also I deleted my facebook profile, but I still have the page on facebook if you want to check that out! You can also contact me there, on here, through email, Goodreads, and Book Blogs. I don't want to be a snob, I want to be able to talk to people who are reading my works. Read their comments and answer questions. Like that kind of relationship of being able to commuicate and actually talk to the readers.

Veterans Day

Hey!
Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to those you have served, fallen, and or still serving! Thank you for all that you have done and sacrificed. I really do not believe there is enough words to describe thank you in the dictionary in any language. To those who are currently over seas right now, stay safe so you can come home to your families and friends!

Pirating Stories

I know people for years have been talking about pirating movies. I know I have gone to NYC a few years back and seen the movies on the streets being sold. However people are doing this will stories online. I read something this morning that I would like to share.

"Writers are having problems with pirates. No, not the kind with big ass swords who yell, “I’m going to use your guts for garters, my pretty.” No, these internet pirates are stealing our books.

Authors and publishers are being forced to walk the financial plank. Not only do these brigands cost us hard-earned income, they can even contribute to ending our careers. Sales determine an author’s success and if thousands of our books are being downloaded from the pirate sites instead of legitimate sites, it can seriously impact our sales and future career.

What surprises us the most about these bandits is they list “being a mom” on their profiles. Wow! Are these moms going into grocery stores and stealing food? If they need a new car, do they steal the neighbor’s? Do they spot a designer dress and stuff it in their pants and run out the front door? Probably not, because they know they’ll end up in jail with a nice arrest record and fingerprint goop all over their hands.

The pirates know they are doing wrong but just don’t care and here’s a list of excuses they hide behind.

Freedom of speech. Say what? Stealing other people’s work is NOT freedom of speech. It’s theft, plain and simple. How would the pirates like it, if they worked a 60 hour week and on payday someone came in and snatched 90% of their pay away claiming it was their “right” to do so?

The economy. Guess what? Writers eat, too. We’re working stiffs trying to make ends meet. Our books are our paychecks and we only get paid based on the sales of our books. They don’t sell well, we don’t get paid.

Writers are rich. I wish. Most authors make less than a Walmart greeter. Sad but true. Very few of us live in a mansion and jet to Europe for the weekend.

They’re doing us a favor by putting our books on these sites. Are you kidding me? You’re not helping us and we don’t enjoy being robbed blind by our so called fans.

It’s a criminal act to upload or download books you didn’t write for free. Most of the “free” download sites are basically criminal organizations. Some sites even burn dozens of popular ebooks to CD’s and sell them on ebay.

There is a pending bill in the Senate S3804, The Combatting Copyright Infringement and Counterfiet Acts. However this bill was stashed when the Senators made a mad dash home to save their flagging careers. The elections are over and we need to eat. Please email your Senator. This has to stop."

I recieved this on goodreads and felt it should be shared.

oh november...

Hey!
So we are finishing up the first week of November, the short month. Those in school, I do not know about work, know that this is a month wehre everything is done. The saying 'so much to do, so little time' really rings true. During the next month and December I will truly be swamped, not exciting. Thanksgiving up coming up soon, then comes Decmember, the month of holidays. My dad has had started putting Christmas lights up on our house since mid October. Hopefully this weekend though I will be sending a submission letter to Bucks County Publishing sunday, for Family Ties. Really crossing my fingers on that one.

starting query letters for...

Hey!
So I have decided that in 2 weekends I will start sending out query letters for 'Family Ties'! I love 'End of the Line', it probably has some of my favorite characters in it and I do hope it does pick up a pace one day. However, I do believe sometimes it takes that one story and the rest will follow suit. So I'll move onto book too and let things keep building! I'll probably post a summer of 'Family Ties' soon, but I'm going to start those query letters then, and after a certain point of constant no's I might just self publish with another company again. I tend to be impatient apparently when it comes to this. I'm hoping that agents will like this story though...

Update on Book Trailer

Hey!
I'm sure people are getting sick of me saying that the Book Trailer for 'End of the Line' is on its way. However, it is on its way. I'm home from school this weekend so I'm able to see my friend Amy who said she'll do the images! I'm going to be seeing her tonight to hang out along with to give her a copy of 'End of the Line' because she read it back maybe 3 years ago. So her memory is a little fuzzy. Yay for working process!! I'm having fun figuring this out. Also 'Family Ties' I'm pretty sure I'll be looking for agents for it soon, so that it'll be book number two out! I'm pretty excited about that! Further more, book number three, 'A Pirate's Life for Me' is about a little more than halfway through being edited! All so exciting especially since the semester is almost over!

featured!

Hey!
Sorry I was working on to essays yesterday so I wasn't able to spread some of the news. It's a lame reasoning, but it is a big grade for a class. My blog was one of the new sites featured on a lovely reading site! The link is listed below! Be sure to check it out!!

On other news I might be going to try a new route for the "End of the Line" book trailer. I am allowing one of my camera happy friends lose and have fun taking pictures. I'm looking forward to see what she comes up with. Like me, Amy, is a a college student so it will take a little bit. I do not know still about the music, but I'm pretty excited that Amy was excited about this!

comment

Hey Everyone!
I really should be asleep, silly college sleeping pattern...
So my friend Alex read the chapter from 'A Pirate's Life for Me', seriously did not expect such a long comment, but none the less appericated and highly enjoyed! I'm saving his comment at the bottom of the story as a reminder. He really helped me understand the male mind a little more, a better prespective. The poor guy has volunteered to help any time i needed it...I'll try to not abuse that offer.

poor Project US

Hey,
So I wrote "Project US" freshman year in high school, even though I wrote before this story, this was the story that really helped me want to really write. That probably doesn't make sense at all. It is also that story that no matter what I do, I feel like it will never be done enough to make me fully satified with it. My friend Patty, might be annoyed since now I will editing it so that two factors will be different. One has to change because I saw a law that would help the plot line along that I didn't know about. Then another scene if I want to have the story located where I'm thinking I have to change that scen which I'm not fully sure how I'll do since it overlaps two chapters, but I'll see how that goes...

weekend

Hey!
I hope everyone is preparing for the weekend! I hope everyone will have a better weekend then me. I have a bunch of homework this weekend, especially since Halloween weekend I have a huge family thing that I will not be able to any really. To help the no pressure time, November, project month and finals in December, so exciting...let me tell you. I really wanted to get more of the Book Trailer this weekend, but I am not sure if I can because of the homework. I'm going to try, because I really like sticking to a schedule. I'm going to try to get a hold of the guy to see if he is interested. Just to prove my needing to stick to my plan, I'm having my friend Alex read the chapter in "A Pirate's Life for Me". He is brutely honest so I'm a little nervous.

I've been talking to this author on Goodreads and he has been helping me with questions about self publishing vs. traditonal publishing. Along with comparing notes about agent letters. It was all good information, but my mind is spinning with all this information.

images

Hey!
So I'm hoping to try to contact someone this weekend to get images for the Book Trailer for "End of the Line". Sorry about the process taking away. The person is a friend of a friend so I'm really hoping this works! Also having a friend, Ryan, read part of "A Pirate's Life for Me" because I'm really stuck on chapter 7's point of view. It is from a guy's point a view and for some reason, maybe I'm being over critical, but this one chapter is making me a little ansty. I'm hoping he reads the chapter soon. I'm halfway through of editing this story! If my line-up stays the same this will hopefully be book number 3! I'm nervous about only letting him read one chapter with not much background, but I'll see how he does with that. Also I want to thank the people I've been meeting through Book Blogs and Goodreads! You all have been seriously helpful with aiding me through the networking and seeing different views!

updated news

Hey!
So I've been asking around and I'm getting some bites for people who would do the images for the trailer for 'End of the Line'! Getting excited that this is coming along! I'm taking a minor break writing query letters, still have a bunch that I'm waiting to hear from Xcrossing my fingersX.

Hey!

Hey!
I've been working on the book trailer for "End of the Line". I'm searching around for pictures. Along with I've been figuring out Book Blogs and goodreads still, just what a college student needs to find, another way to procastenate!! I really do not do well with cold weather and being away from home, I really did not get to take a lot of books with me. I really wish I had my copy of "This Lullaby" by Sarah Dessen.

I was very difficult when it came to romance in high school, and slowly trying to make sure I don't mess up my chances for the future. I'm not a mushy kind of person, and I could relate with the character Remy. I loved this book, it is my favorite by Sarah Dessen. It was sweet and I loved Dexter, who is sweet and full of his own quirks. Its fun, cute, and witty and I know excatly where it is in my bookshelf 50 miles away from here...

free time soon!

Hi everyone!
I have a 5 day break coming up! So that means I'll have more time to continue editing 'A Pirate's Life for Me' along with trying to figure out how to make a book trailer for 'End of the Line'! I'm kind of excited to try making it, not really sure what I'll do for pictures, but I'm sure I'll figure something out!

Book Trailers

Hi!
So I do not know about everyone else, but it is midterm season! I really do not do well with midterm and finals, so this shall not be a time of peace for me. However next weekend after a couple of my midterms I have a few days off so to keep myself sane I will be trying ot keep busy. So one of my projects will to create a Book Trailer for "End of the Line". I'm not really tech. savvy so I'm going to have fun with this.

in a good mood!

Hey!
So Laurie Faria Stolarz responded to my message!! I'm seriously in very high spirits because of it! She is seirously my favorite author! Kind of a role model for a furutre writer. I love how she actually took time to answer my question about book trailers and wished me luck with my book!! I'm hoping to be like that with the readers and future readers of my stories. I like the open comfortable atmosphere between people to be able to have that kind of communication!
~Ottilie

sorry!

Hi!
Sorry that it has been awhile since I have wrote anything on here! I'm still sending out agent letters while I'm editing my story "(A) Pirates Life for Me". I wrote this story when I was 16 and I'm enjoying editing this story to revisit what I wrote. I like going back and adding a few more details and toning those I already have. I'm happy though I finally figured out the right tattoo for the character Sly! A pheonix is what I finally picked, it is the symbol for sun and rebirth. I had trouble while writing it picking the right one. I'm going to have my friend Melissa read it when I'm done editing it to get a prespective on it.

I also yesterday contacted one of or my favorite author Laurie Faria Stolarz because I was saw that she did a book trailer, which I was hearing about them recently. I'm not really sure what I think of a book trailer, hers for "Bleed" which I truly do love. It looked amazing! I love how her writing! She really knows how to get into your head especially with her book "Project 17"! I'm not sure if she'll responde to my message, but sending it was pretty exciting! I know she's probably busy so I'm not really expecting a response, but the fact that I wrote to her is still pretty awsome for me!

Also http://www.ottilieweber.com/ is now expired and as I try to figure out what I want to do for a new site I will pretty much be available here or on facebook. Sorry if it is an inconvience to anyone! I'm not really tech. savvy so I'm sorry if it is taking awhile, and I really do not care for my publishers to give them more money while I am out of work. I feel like I'm forgetting something, I'm hoping I'm not, but I'll try to write soon!

Query Letter

Hi! I think I've sent out close to 30 query letters since 2009. It kind of reminds me of college letters, you write trying different stuff, adding this because one agency wants chapters while another just wants a letter, some want summaries, then there are a few that wants the whole shabang. Then you play the waiting game not sure what will happen in the email because it isn't like the college letter looking for the big envelop sitting in the mailbox weighing someone's future. The trick is to just breathe and know things happen for a reason as you wait for the best fit which is key. Writing is suppose to be fun and full of passion and it takes the right mixture of agency and writer to create that magic! It's fun experience trying to figure this all out, really is.

So...

Hey Everyone! So I did make a decision, I withdrew from the Exhibit in California this fall. Wasn't happy about the choice, but the company really isn't helping me, refuse to respond to emails, sent one back in June still haven't received an answer. Just trying to get words out there...

Debating

Hi! So I truly hate my publishing company. They do not help with anything. They do not answer their emails unless it means direct money to them. Or if you tell them they are unprofessonial and don't do their jobs, and yes I have pulled that card on them once. So I'm currently debating if I should pull out of the Exhibit in September, and get my money back from that. Then publish a book with another company. Any ideas??

Hi!

Hi!
I'm really not sure what to be writing here. Welcome to my first Blogging experience. I'm a Young Adult Writer, and I have published the book "End of the Line". It can be found at the following websites, Barnes and Nobles, Borders, and Amazon! At the two book stores I'm sure you can request it. My book is about the world being mostly destroyed leaving the small amount of people trying to figure out how to survive. The story is told through the eyes of two of the people (Aaron and Lauren) in a small group of seven people ranging from the ages 17-6. The book shows theirs travels as they search for a safe place to keep everyone while battling illnesses, starvation, a second round of world horrors, and Dean Manson. Dean Manson was put in jail because of Aaron and since the world is upside down is looking for revenge on him no matter the costs. Pick up a copy to get a real grip of their adventure that was based off a nightmare that I've been having for years. Hopefully you'll enjoy it!
