Dog Treats

Hello,
Shhh we won't tell Ryan ;)
I still have to post some pictures from my cruise and a couple of reviews of books that I read while I
was away. I will probably do one of those this weekend so keep your eyes out. I am sure though that you are looking at the title and wondering why is a book blog talking about dog treats. I will get to that. I will admit it that I am a bit of a crazy furry mom. When I started dating my boyfriend Ryan again (we dated back after high school, but remained friends for years) I joked that his dog Lily was my part time dog. PS we are going to not tell him about this picture of us from his step-brother's wedding in April on here. ;)

Lily is a mutt by definition, I can begin to describe what kind of dog she is other than she is a princess. For awhile it was just the two of them and then the evil step mother came into the picture and she had to share her father's attention. Now, I am sure that some of you are really starting to worry about my sanity after that statement, but she loves him more than anyone else.

The day we got Leo, I call it "What is this and
are we keeping it?"
I call her my silly Lily. Look at those ears, who wouldn't think she was adorable? Spoiled rotten though she will still try to wiggle herself between Ryan and I. A little before she turned one we got my brat Leo. Because Ryan was going to move out and Lily has always been around other dogs and i've always had a dog in my life and missed it. So March 2015 he and I went to the pound and picked up this little five pound furry baby who was weak. We found out a little later he was kind of skin, but he soon became my baby and he acts like it. Lily took a month really realize that he was not going anywhere and she was stuck with him. It took her a little bit for her to learn to share the attention, but they are dogs they will never fully learn that. Once he got big enough to play with and not just drag around by his collar they play pretty well. I swear though, Lily gives me this look at times of 'Why did you bring this thing into my life?'. However, when they go missing they are cuddling together. Then other times Leo pulls her curly tail to get her to play with him.

Like I said, that look doesn't fool me. Lily is actually allergic to some dog food. Her skin will turn red and she loses chunks of it so we had to play around for a little bit until we found a dog food that was good for her. It took us a little bit to get her skin and fur all healthy again. I usually spoil them when we go out at petsmart, they actually know the store by name and love going. When Ryan and I cook we usually research can dogs eat something. We've looked up potatoes, onion, and a few other things.

Leo, my cool dude :)

Now, who doesn't have a dog that doesn't have awful breath? I get them the sticks to help with their teeth. I've found a few things on pinterest for dog breath mints. I didn't think anything about it because I've made Lily homemade dog treats before and she loved them. Leo just sees the jar of peanut butter and his eyes bug out. I made this dog mints for them. Leo was fine, but poor Lily she got sick. She threw up and everything. The poor thing curled up with me on the couch for the rest of the night until she felt better.

Ryan asked what was in the mints. I told him oats, an egg, and a few other things which included freshly chopped parsley and mint. Apparently parsley even a fresh ones are not good for dogs. It can cause dehydration, throwing up, and a few other things for most dogs. Mind you before you all start yelling at me, I used less than half a cup which was less than what the recipe asked for and I gave her a square that was half an inch. I felt horrible the whole night as she and I cuddled all night. She's my cuddle buddy in the winter. I just wanted to warn all of you dog lovers, despite all those recipes using parsley do not do it! I felt stupid about it since I normally look before give them anything. However learn from me!

New Cover...last time

Hello!
Poor End of the Line has gone through many transformations over the years, changing its face more than once. Unless I make it huge and a big time publisher takes End of the Line under its wing, I promise this will be the last time I change its cover. Even then I might beg just because I feel bad and I know as a reader books constantly changing covers drives me crazy. However, I think what drives me even more crazy is series covers that don't match. I was reading the Nightshade series, and I loved the sparkly purple cover, then they went and changed the cover so that they would all go in a new direction. Now the series sits on my bookshelf in Jersey (not enough room where I live now...) not matching. Yet, the series when you look it up they all do go along with each other.

That is one of the things that drove the last change for this book series. The second book is still with the editor, but I want to get ready for the marketing for its release. That in mind, I want to make sure that the covers make sense.

It is uploaded on smashwords, and Amazon will take a day or two so keep your eyes out!

Summer and Giveaway

Hello!
I am home from an all day conference, day one out of three, and my brain is gone. This is day two of summer break if you do not count the weekend. Yet, yesterday I cleaned, dusted, mopped, and organized 95% of the house. I would have vacuumed, but I took it apart and couldn't put it back together again. Oops! Oh well, I gave something for my boyfriend to do to keep him busy in addition to a pot rack that needs to be hung up. Now that I am out of work and down to two weeks of my class I foresee many home projects in my future. That is, not including my writing ones!

However, I doubt you all clicked on my blog to read about me cleaning and organizing my house. Or my fail attempts of being handy with my vacuum. You want to read about the big giveaway that has 23 days left! The winner will win a big prize that is worth over $200! It has a gift card to Amazon, in addition to paperbacks from eighteen authors. All of the books are contemporary romance themed. Beneath the Scars and Project US are just two of the many books that are part of this package.

GOOD LUCK!! :)

Weather and writing

Hello!
Well, after two weeks of rain the sun has come in full force with ninety degree weather. I'm taking a summer course that will end by July 1st, and there are about 13 days of school left for my students. This summer will be the summer of writing and getting back into some reviews. My brain is already getting into the summer mode early.

So in the spirit of the early summer Project US and Beneath the Scars are both .99 instead of $2.99. On smashwords Shadows from the Past is free.

Last night I was part of a launch and I thought I would do a giveaway for the Mistakes series, but changed my mind. However, a giveaway started anyway. Oops! So I hope you enjoy this giveaway and my mistake!

Little spurts and a change of date

Hello!
So the spring cleaning bug has really dug its teeth into me lately. The house we're renting is a two bedroom, one bath without a pantry or a hall closet so the suggestions on pinterest are simple teases. So I'll have to get inventive which sounds more appealing than my homework. However, what I've done to one of the flower beds little spurts of green are popping up out of the ground. I know a few of those are weeds or those clovers with the small purple flowers that are all over the yard, but I kind of forgot what I even planted so I am waiting a little long until things are bigger.

Then I get to this big green plant that is doing so well! I don't remember if I have mentioned this before, but I do not have a green thumb. I'm actually trying to find a way to tell my boyfriend our aloe plant  seems to have exploded and died. I didn't know that was even possible, but that seems to be the only thing that could've happened. Now about this one plant, my boyfriend is convinced that it is a weed. I think it's a daisy plant. Anyone, if you know what this is I would love to hear your suggestions!

Now, I am sure you're done listening to me talk about gardening and my failed attempts of organizing when this is a book blog. I will go straight to the point, Off the Beaten Path (End of the Line 2) I know I said it would be released this month, but I have moved it to June. It is still being edited. I will keep you updated if there are any changes. Meanwhile I have been barely able to write, but I have gotten a little bit done with Mistakes #5 (Moonlit Eyes),  and first rounds of edits of Mistakes #5.

Let me just say grad school has been kicking my butt this semester especially the past month so I have not been able to get much done. Which is seriously digging at my sanity as I have been outlining a new story. I know I need to finish other stories that I have going on before I start a new one. However, I like to think to work on the stories on  which the voices are the strongest. This new story I am not sure if I will be connecting it to Beneath the Scars. I will say the story known as Call for Help will now be called something else because I will be stealing that title for the new story. It fits it better. I will share more details on the new project once I am able to actually work on it other than writing notes here and there. I will say that there a few country songs influecing this song.
